A Family's Attic of Words, Memories & Musings

One thing that has marked most of us in the Johnson family is our proclivity to write down our memories, musings and mishaps, then share what we wrote with a select few people; in fact, maybe just between ourselves. Then the texts wind up in boxes or lost in electronic limbo somewhere on computer hard drives.

So here is an effort to put all of those scribblings in one place, with each family member getting his or her own page to do with what they will with it, with their brief descriptions and links to PDFs of the things they have written.

We don't claim these writings have lasting (or any) literary merit, but they may be of interest to some one or more of our friends, relatives or descendants some day if not now, so here they are.

We -- Paul, Sylvia and Larry -- certainly wish we had asked our grandparents more questions about how they lived and what they remembered while they were still around. But we didn't. So what they did leave behind in the way of letters or notes testifies to the random ways in which those things somehow magically survive. You get lucky and find an old dusty box full of all sorts of things, signs that they were once here, too.

But now we live in a digital age, and people move around a lot. So dusty boxes in an attic are probably things of the past (er, with the possible exception of Paul and Tracey's basement).

So this will now serve as our family's digital attic, so to speak, where we can put all our written stuff in one place so others like you, dear reader, can find it with ease, all of it for the most part nice and legible. If you happen to come across something here that gives you a giggle or brings a tear to your eye, then our putting this together will have proven its merit.

This is still very much a work in progress, so please come back again from time to time.

Enjoy!
